Who runs it
CashPilot is run by Max Lloyd, a UK sole trader. It's a small independent site, not a software vendor and not an accountancy firm — which is exactly why it can compare tools on their merits rather than push one product. You can reach us at max@trycashpilot.com.
Why it exists
Choosing accounting software as a UK sole trader is genuinely confusing: pricing pages hide the real cost, “free” tiers have catches, and MTD for Income Tax is changing what everyone needs. Most comparisons online are thin affiliate bait. CashPilot exists to do the opposite — clear, honest write-ups that tell you the limits as plainly as the strengths, plus free tools that don't need your email to work.
Our editorial & honesty policy
- Honest pricing. We describe pricing structure and always tell you to verify the current price on the provider's own site — figures go stale, so we date-stamp them.
- Limits stated, not buried. Every review says where a tool is weak, not just where it shines.
- Affiliate links are labelled. Some outbound links are affiliate links (marked
rel="sponsored") and may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. They never change our ranking or what we say — see our full affiliate disclosure. - No guarantees.
