CashPilot (trycashpilot.com) is run by Max Lloyd, a UK sole trader. This page describes what information the site actually collects and what happens to it, in plain English.
What this site does
CashPilot publishes free guides, calculators and comparisons for UK sole traders, sells a digital record-keeping workbook (the MTD Ready Kit), and runs a free email reminder list for MTD deadlines. A sister site, rates.trycashpilot.com, publishes reference data and collects nothing beyond the analytics described below.
The email reminder list
If you sign up for deadline reminders, we collect your email address. The list is double opt-in: nothing is stored as active until you confirm from the email we send you. The list is operated by Buttondown (buttondown.com), which processes your address on our behalf. We send around four emails a year, one before each MTD quarterly deadline. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the list. We never sell, share or use your address for anything except these reminders.
Purchases
The MTD Ready Kit is sold through Gumroad, which handles the checkout and payment. We never see your card details. Gumroad shares with us the information needed to fulfil the order (such as your email address for delivery and receipts), and handles payments under its own privacy policy. We keep sales records for tax and accounting purposes, as UK law requires.
Analytics
We run a small first-party counter that records page views and clicks (page visited, referrer, timestamp, and a technical identifier). It is used to count visitors and see which pages help people; it does not build personal profiles and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. Our hosting provider (Vercel) also keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and operations.
Cookies
The site uses only what is needed for basic operation. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking cookie.
Affiliate links
Some links to third-party products are affiliate links, always disclosed. If you click one, the destination site sets its own cookies under its own policy, and we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See the Affiliate Disclosure page.
How long we keep things
Email addresses stay on the reminder list until you unsubscribe or we delete the list. Analytics and log data are kept only as long as needed for operations and security. Sales records are kept for the period UK tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (except records we must keep by law). Email max@trycashpilot.com and we will act on it promptly.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the change will describe what the site actually does at that time.
